What is microbusiness?

A microbusiness, or "micro," is an enterprise run with as little as one and as many as nine people.

Strictly speaking, a microbusiness can encompass any industry but usually applies to  personal service providers.

And, although I use the moniker microbusiness to describe these enterprises, the following terms are just as good: entrepreneur, independent contractor, small business owner, owner & proprietor, consultant, family-owned business, or freelancer.

Many microbusinesses are one- or two-person operations. Some of these businesses maintain traditional office space but some operate out of their homes, or trucks. 

Microbusinesses are owned and operated by entrepreneurial individuals that decided to take a risk, build a dream, and create a career all their own. Microbusiness owners are Starters, Closers, and DIYers.
